I had an appointment for 3:00, waited 15 minutes. This nail salon has a nice interior and is spacious, but services are sub par. But for me, I look for the whole experience and not just the end product. I mean if you just want a quick manicure and don't really care about the experience, this place is not bad. The grand opening special for a mini manicure was $14.99 before taxes and tips. They were busy, but I mean, if you have a fully booked schedule, then maybe you shouldn't take walk-ins. I mean, although I am doing a mini manicure, I do expect to have the nail tech full attention. He was trying to service two clients at the same time. The nail tech, I got was a guy, he was polite, but just not very focused. The nail polish application was good but the service I received could have been better. The mini basic manicure, was average I have to say. Why I say this is because in the nail bar section in the middle, there were all kinds of mail polish on the table everywhere and unattended towels lying around. I have to say, although the interior decor was nice and was supposed to give the client the "luxury' feeling/atmosphere they really should keep the place neat and tidy. They do so I told them I wanted to get a mini basic manicure. Since, I am on vacation in a different city, I can't really do my own nails so when I came across this place while I was roaming around in Karrisdale and saw their grand opening special, I told myself, "hey, why not." I stepped inside, and asked whether they take walk-ins. I just like the experience of getting my nails done whether it is going to a nail salon or doing it myself at home. I normally do my own nails as most of the time I only really want a basic manicure, nothing fancy. I'm super disappointed and won't be coming back, there are plenty of other salons in Vancouver. The final product was unevenly shaped nails and a very painful rest of my day, and to top it off I was charged for a full set not a fill. I have NEVER had a technician file my gel completely down and then to go through my actual nail. Combined with not paying much attention, she filed THROUGH my real nail with the drill and I was left bleeding. She put the gel on and did a very very hasty job of filing. I had booked a gel fill but she had removed all my previous gel and tried to do a new set of acrylic? I saw her pull out the powder and had to ask her to switch to gel. She did not clean up my cuticles or do a soak or anything. Linda clearly didn't want to keep her waiting so the rest of my appointment was rushed. Her next customer who was clearly a friend and a regular arrived at 11:30am. I had no problem with that as the rest of my morning was pretty open. I had the first appointment at 10am with her on NYE and she arrived 15 minutes late. Linda worked on me all three times and she's very detailed and meticulous but the third time I went was vastly different. I've come here three times, and the first two were great experiences.
